Visiting students

Ph.D. students enrolled in doctoral courses outside Italy are welcome to visit the BMCS doctoral program for research collaborations and to participate in the activity of the program.

If the visit is longer than 30 days, they are enrolled as visiting PhD students and receive a badge in their name to access the designated facilities. The first step is to get in touch with a component of the Faculty Board who can serve as the supervisor of the visit.

Once the contact is established and the supervision has been informally agreed upon in terms of purpose and period, the prospective student can issue a formal request by using the dedicated platform accessible here. The platform will then invite the prospective supervisor to upload an invitation letter. At the end of the visit, the supervisor uploads a certificate of attendance and the course coordinator validates it.

- Some applicant's instructions about the online form are here.

  • - A description of the whole application process in Italian, for the UNIPD supervisor/host is here.

Please consider that the doctoral program will not manage travel permits and immigration issues, and cannot refund the expenses of the visit. However, non-EU visitors must register in the Universitaly for their VISA to be issued: for this, please contact the doctoral course secretary.
