Research lines


- Addressing the cognitive and language learning needs of children with hearing loss. An early auditory deprivation may have consequences on the development of cognitive processes that are critical for verbal language learning, such as verbal memory and the ability to process and learn temporal sequences. In my research I explore these cognitive deficits and try to develop adaptive learning tools and technologies that support deaf children in developing these cognitive functions.

Donald Norman, co-director of the Design Lab at the UCSD, co-founder of the highly reputed consultancy company Nielsen-Norman Group and author of seminal books such as 'The design of everyday things' will give a talk during a celebration event to be held on June 17th at 14:30, 20 years since he received the laurea honoris causa from the University of Padua. HIT researchers receive Smart Community Prize


The Smart Community Prize at SMAU 2015 in Padova was granted on April 2 2015 to the european project CultAR, developing augmented reality solutions to improve the experience of urban cultural heritage. The award was received by Luciano gamberini and shared with his team involved in the project (Anna Spagnolli, Valeria Orso, Alessandro Privitera). HIT member Mauro Conti team is multiple winner of Clusit prizes

The SPRITZ Security and Privacy Research Group of Prof. Mauro Conti (HIT - Human Inspired Technology Research Centre) has been awarded with several prizes for the best 2014 MSc thesis in Computer Security from the CLUSIT - Italian Association for Computer Security: Claudio Guarisco won the 1st prize, Giuseppe Cascavilla the 3rd prize, and finally, Sebastiano Gottardo, Giulia Mosca and Riccardo Spolaor (currently PhD student in Brain, Mind & Computer Science PhD School of the HIT) won the 5th prize.
