Neurodevelopmental disorders: Genes, brain, cognition and possible remediation and prevention by video games

Andrea Facoetti
Dept. of General Psychology, University of Padua

To propose an alternative vision of neurodevelopmental disorders such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, language and autism spectrum disorders in which developmental neuropsychology and computer science could be integrate for an efficient remediation and prevention

- Clinical definition of neurodevelopmental disorder such as specific learning disabilities and autism spectrum disorder.
- Neurodevelopmental models: (i) deterministic vs. probabilistic, (ii) single deficit vs. multiple deficits.
- Genetic bases
- Brain disorders
- Cognitive dysfunctions
- Traditional vs. innovative neuropsychological trainings.
