Project description
The project aims to provide new insights into how music education can provide benefit in cognitive capacities such as time perception, magnitude extimation, mathematical abiities and language acquisition in infants’ brain evolution and in children with and without learning disabilities. It also aims at exploring whether a certain kind of background music in the infants’ environment can enhance verbal working memory capacities and if it accounts for concurrent and later language outcomes in laboratory tasks and the real world. The project will address these issues using two groups, one with a music enriched environment and another without any background music. The use of eye- tracking methods, Functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) and behavioral techniques will help to understand how music enhance
