Project description
As AI systems play a growing role in our everyday lives, it is essential that they develop a more human-like understanding of the world. Many current models still struggle with tasks that humans find natural, such as manipulating objects, navigating spaces, or following instructions, largely because they lack a grounded understanding of 3D environments and their meaning. My research explores how language can be integrated into 3D scene representations to support this kind of understanding. The goal is to align semantic textual information with 3D visual features without relying exclusively on 2D distillation. By working directly with 3D representations, I aim to study how meaning, geometry, and spatial relationships can be learned together to enable more natural perception and more reliable, safer interaction with real-world environments.
