Project description
My PhD research focuses on digital accessibility to ensure that everyone, including people with impairments, has equal access to digital resources. My project aims to break down digital barriers through innovative, inclusive solutions across web and mobile platforms. Regarding the web environment, my goal is to develop tools that facilitate the design of web products compliant with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. Regarding mobile, I'm deep into the HCI field with a focus on developing multimodal approaches to make visual content perceivable through different senses. I'm developing a multimodal Android/iPad application that makes mathematical functions and STEM content accessible to visually impaired users through sound, touch, and screen reader support. I'm also exploring how to adapt these approaches to emerging platforms like virtual reality and extend them to broader domains, including data visualizations.
