Aim
The unprecedented deployment scale of sensing and communication technology has given rise to novel data-driven applications that rely on inputs collected by networks of humans or measured by sensors acting on their behalf. Commonly referred to as Crowdsesing and Computing, the paradigm has the potential to impact domains including but not limited to health, transportation, energy, disaster recovery etc. In this lecture series we provide a general overview of the paradigm along with some case studies pertinent to the BMCS doctoral program.

Syllabus
- Crowdsensing paradigm: an opportunity and challenges that it entails;
- Sensing technology and platforms;
- Practical case studies and field trials pertinent to the BMCS doctoral program.
