Methodological foundations and statistics in cognitive science

Aim
The course aims to introduce the students to the basic concepts of methods and statistics in psychological and neuroscience research. The course also includes a practical training focused on using the JASP software.

Syllabus
- Basic concepts in methodology and statistics
- The types of experimental design. Introduction to JASP software
- The differences between Review, Meta-analysis, Research Article
- Descriptive statistics
- ANOVA, ANCOVA, MANOVA, t-Test
- Correlation and regression
- Graphical representation of data
- Running and commenting statistical analysis (or hypothesizes possible statistical analysis) on custom data (students' own project)

Examination modality
Students will be asked run and comment statistical analysis (that they have previously run) on custom data during the last hours of the course
